Respectfully, I don't agree with your premise. English is being used (or employed) more and more widely, but the the scope of the language itself appears to be on the wane. It has become increasngly rare to read beautifully constructed sentences with nuanced, elegant use of the language. Cast your eyes upon any number of popular pieces on this platform, and you'll see exactly what I mean.
