I loved this piece. I am a product of the ‘70s/80’s and often felt that weird sinister tension when being only 2 hours from New York City! So much to unpack here. So much of it has to do with the religious fanatics who came in the 17th century… not so different from some parts in the rest of the world today. But that’s what keeps the patriarchy in power… fear and scarcity mentalities. It will be the undoing of us in the end.
